The Obol Lopon of Idomi, His Royal Highness Obol Ofem Inah Edet, has called on the aggrieved All Progressive Congress (APC) Counselorhhip Aspirants to give peace a chance in the coming LGA elections.
Obol Edet, said “We have calmed them, and if they were aggrieved before now, the end result is that they are happy and have accepted.”
He stated this shortly after a meeting with the Aspirants and key stakeholders on Saturday at the traditional rulers palace, Idomi in Yakurr LGA.
Also, the Monarch said to the aspirants and their supporters to accept the candidacy of Eteng Ofem Inyang, endorsed by the ruling party and the Idomi community.
According to him, the selection of Inyang as the would-be councilor aligns with the community’s established zoning system.
“Though Inyang is a brother to a serving commissioner. “As of right now, in the zoning system we have here, it falls on him, the would-be councilor,” he said.
Speaking through His Royal Highness Arikpo Eyong Ekubi, a key participant in the meeting said any previous grievances within the community had been resolved.
“We have calmed them, and if they were aggrieved before now, the end result is that they are happy and have accepted Obol Lopon explained.”
“Wherever there has been a mistake, it will be corrected,” he assured.
“They are all our children, and we will not allow anybody to do anything that will drag us into chaos or anarchy.”
