Mr. Ibu: Endless Joy As Bukola Saraki Pays ‘All Medical Bills’ Of Ailing Actor

Following calls for financial assistance to avoid possible amputation by popular Nollywood comic Actor, John Okafor also known as Mr. Ibu, the Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) foundation has donated funds for the treatment.

Mr. Ibu who is currently battling with an undisclosed illness had requested in an Instagram video for the prayers and financial support of his fans after doctors said he would be amputated if they exhaust available options.

Several well meaning Nigerians had heed the call to assist him declaring their love and prayers for the funny actor whom brought immense pleasure and joy to his fans through the years of his career.

ABS foundation is a non-profit organisation that was established by, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the former senate president.

The foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of poor Nigerians through a variety of programs and initiatives.

In a statement on Friday via X, the foundation revealed the “entire medical expenses of Ibu have been paid off as of Wednesday”.

“The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation is honoured to have extended support to Mr. John Okafor also known as Mr. Ibu, a renowned comedic icon who has graced our screens and brought joy and laughter to countless homes over the past four decades,” the statement reads.

“When we learned of his recent health challenges and the financial burdens associated with his medical treatment, we felt a deep sense of responsibility to assist in any way we could. We promptly paid off his entire medical expenses as of Wednesday.”

Similarly, Shehu Sani, the Nigerian senator, had earlier assured that he would ensure that the attention of notable Nigerians is drawn to Ibu’s plight.

Also, Paul Okoye, a Nigerian singer, called on his colleagues and fans to support the actor.
