Community members protested at the entrance of the University of Ibadan in Oyo State, Nigeria’s South Western region, on Monday morning to show their unhappiness with the country’s continued economic instability.

Truth Live News correspondent verified that the protesters took the protest to the university’s gate, prohibiting movement of vehicles and other activities

Our correspondent also confirmed the visible presence of soldiers and Operation Burst personnel, who are there to maintain order and prevent it from devolving into violence.

It is no secret that Nigerians have recently suffered a stinging naira and fuel crisis, which has brought economic activity to a halt.

Recall that just last week, Truth Live News reported on the vandalism of public and private facilities in Ibadan by angry residents who were unable to withdraw money from banks nor buy fuel owing to the scarcity.

Indeed, the scarcity of naira and fuel has further exacerbated the difficulties Nigerians are experiencing, as fuel pump prices have surged, resulting in an increase in transportation costs around the country.
