Nasir El Rufai Set to Receive Prestigious Gbobaniyi Title in Ijebu Land

In a recent announcement, former Kaduna state governor Nasir El Rufai is set to receive the prestigious chieftaincy title of Gbobaniyi of Ijebuland in Yoruba land. The news was conveyed through a congratulatory message from Pastor Tunde Bakare, a prominent pastor, activist, and former vice-presidential candidate to President Buhari in the 2011 elections.

Pastor Bakare commended El Rufai’s dedication to good governance and unwavering commitment to public interest, expressing great joy at the honor bestowed upon him. The chieftaincy title, conferred by the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, HRM Alaiyeluwa Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona (Ogbagba II), is known for its significance in the Ijebu Kingdom. The Gbobaniyi is entrusted with promoting the king’s image and contributing to the socio-economic development of Ijebuland.
