Manchester United legend Gary Neville has analyzed the mistake made by Arsenal’s defensive wall, leading to Bruno Fernandes’ free-kick goal in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.

Neville pointed out that the wall was positioned too far back, giving Fernandes the opportunity to score.

While performing his punditry duties on Sky Sports, Neville observed that the Gunners’ wall was 11.2 yards away, instead of the ideal 10 yards.

He noted that this distance allowed Fernandes to easily clear the wall and score.

Neville also criticized Arsenal’s players for not creeping forward, making it easier for Fernandes to find space and deliver the goal.

Neville stated, “That wall looks a fair way back… it’s giving him a chance. Usually, you think of a wall, a big wall like that, it always looks really difficult to get it up and over… it didn’t even go that high up into the net.”

Truth Live News reports that despite dominating possession, Arsenal failed to find the winner, allowing Liverpool to maintain their 15-point lead in the 2024-25 Premier League title race.
