Niger Coup: Citizens Go After Politicians, Boo, Attack Them (Video)

In the aftermath of the take over of government in Republic of Niger, citizens have begun to go after top politicians, booing and attacking several of them.

In as viral video seen by Truth Live News, a mob was seen throwing stones at some so called ‘top politicians while they scampered for safety.

Recall that the President Mohamed Bazoum led government was toppled after he was detained by members of the Presidential Guard for some hours on Wednesday.

Men in military fatigues later issued a video statement asserting control of the country.

Bazoum assumed office as 10th president of the West African country in April 2021 after being democratically elected.

However, there was an attempted putsch on March 31, 2021, just two days before Bazoum’s inauguration, according to a security source at the time.

Niger’s last coup occurred in February 2010, overthrowing then president Mamadou Tandja.
