The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has introduced a contactless passport application system in Europe, aimed at simplifying the passport acquisition and renewal process for Nigerians residing in the continent.

This innovative system allows Nigerians to renew their passports without visiting a passport center for biometric enrollment, making it a convenient and efficient solution.

According to NIS Comptroller General, Kemi Nandap, the system is currently available on the Google Play Store (NIS Mobile).

The rollout in Europe marks the second phase of the service’s initiative for Nigerians in the diaspora, following the successful launch in Canada on November 5, 2024.

Nigerians in the United Kingdom and Ireland will be the first beneficiaries of this new system in Europe.

The NIS has reiterated its commitment to innovative and efficient service delivery to Nigerians worldwide.
