Nigerian Army Storm Baby-Making Factory, Rescue 17 Women, Arrest 7 Suspects

No fewer than 17 women were rescued after troops of the Nigerian army invaded a baby making factory along the Nigeria/Cameroon Border in Adamawa state.

During the raid, 7 suspected operators of the factory were also apprehended.

Spokesperson of the 23 brigade, Lieutenant John who disclosed this to newsmen added that the suspects who were reportedly operating a brothel, were paraded by the military at the headquarters of the 23 brigade of the Nigerian Army in Yola, the Adamawa state capital on Saturday.

His words: said, “Troops of the brigade were in a special operation on the border area between Nigeria and Cameroon when they located the camp of the hoodlums on the outskirts of Kasingila village in the Maiha Local Government Area of the state.”

“Seventeen girls between the ages of 19 to 21 years and two babies were rescued in the operation,” Lieutenant John added.

Owner of the camp, Abubakar Abdullahi revealed that he got the women from Adamawa, Gombe and Borno states where he established the camp used as a dance club.

The women were also used for prostitution and the sale of babies delivered by the women within Nigeria and across the border in Cameroon.

The rescued women revealed that they have been in the camp for about two to three years, were recruited as minors and brought to the camp without the knowledge of their families.

According to some of the victims, they were accommodated in a single room and slept on mats. They also claimed that the money realised was held back by their captors so that they cannot escape.

The victims were also used for performances during weddings and naming ceremonies within Nigeria and Cameroon, mostly among criminal gangs operating in the area.
