Abdul Rasheeth, an aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has stated that the northern region has lost interest in former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Rasheeth made this remark on X while reacting to Buhari’s recent statement reaffirming his commitment to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Rasheeth, Buhari’s name no longer carries significant political weight in the North.

He cited reactions from the region and comments on BBC Hausa to support his claim.

Rasheeth also argued that ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s decision to mention Buhari in his defection announcement from APC to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has worsened his situation.

Rasheeth emphasized that the North is no longer interested in hearing anything related to Buhari, suggesting that El-Rufai’s association with the former president has created more trouble for him.

“By linking himself to Buhari, he has only created more trouble for himself, as the North is not interested in hearing anything related to Buhari,” Rasheeth said.
