Bright Okpocha, comedian, otherwise known as Basket Mouth, has fired a reposte at critics after criticism and ceaseless shading trailed his planned global tour which coincided with election date back in Nigeria, saying that the electoral body failed to consult him on election date.
There are angry responses over the tour and plans to call for Nigerians in Hamburg, Gamany to boycott Okpocha’s show because of his alleged double standards.
Apparently, Basket Mouth doesn’t quite get the hint from tweeps and other netizens across the globe that the matter at hand isn’t a luaghing matter.
You can’t, in 2015, attack artistes who went abroad to do shows on same day a decisive election was held in the country only to do same in 2023, people seem to be telling Okpocha.
But the comedian doesn’t seem to see it that way as he comments on his Basket Mouth@basket_mouth handle.
“Unfortunately, INEC has never deemed it fit to check with me before fixing the date for the elections.
“Since l picked February to host my tour first, I think it’s only fair for me to go ahead with the dates.
“Thank you, Please,” he said.
He also added that his global tour has been a practice for 12 years.
But he did not indicate in his tweet if the practice was in place back in 2015 when he criticised other artistes who did shows when he stayed back in the country.
