The Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, has congratulated the president-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu on his victory at the polls.
Oba Ewuare II in a congratulatory message on Friday March 3, describes Tinubu as a unifier and said he believes that the president-elect will do the nation good, considering his background as a nationalist and former governor.
“May I humbly write on behalf of myself, the Royal court of Benin, members of the Royal family, and the Benin Traditional Council to happily congratulate you on a well-deserved election as the President-elect of this our beautiful country Nigeria,” the letter’s opening line reads.
“Many Nigerians who have dreams for a better Nigeria share in your success. With your background, which includes being one of the most prominent nationalists and your accomplishments as governor of Lagos State, I have no doubt that you will excel in carrying out the demanding mandate that the Nigerian people have now democratically put on your shoulders. You have already said in your acceptance speech that you are prepared to be a UNIFIER.
“We join other well-wishers and Nigerians in thanking God for a smooth election process and wishing you a productive term. We wish you well and once more extend our sincere congratulations to Your Excellency as you get set to assume your demanding duties as President of this wonderful nation.”
