Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin has passed a vote of confidence in the Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, with a task to remain focus and tackle crime and criminality in the state.

The traditional ruler gave the expression when he received the first female and indigenous female Commissioner of Police in the State in Oba Palace, Benin City, Edo State, which is not an unfamiliar terrain for her.

Oba Ewuare II, prayed his ancestors and Almighty God to make Nigeria at large and Edo State in particular to be peaceful for Nigerians and security personnel.

The Royal father also prayed for the Commissioner to rise to the peak of her career in Nigeria Police Force and imbue her with wisdom in discharging her duty.

The Oba who spoke in Edo Language said, “The Palace is very pleased with you. We are seeing what you are doing over there. May God and our ancestors empower you to do more.

“We look forward to your rising. We will keep praying for you. May Edo be peaceful for you, your men and for all of us. The palace and the throne are behind you”, the royal father said.

Earlier, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin who said she came to solicit for prayers from the great Benin throne, described her deployment to the State as a homecoming and promised to raise the bar of policing to greater heights in the State.

The Commissioner of Police who spoke in Edo Language, was accompanied to the Palace by the Edo Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Edo State Command, DCP Ben Abang and other senior officers in the Nigeria Police Command in the State.

Daily Sun reports that before her recent deployment as Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Otimenyin, earlier served as the Commissioner of Police Administration, Force Intelligence Department FID, Abuja, years after she served as DPO, Aideyan, Textile Mill road and Oba market Divisions during the reign of Oba Erediauwa.
