The Nigerian former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has said that the Governor of Akwa Ibom state Mr. Udom Emmanuel is a gift to the people of the state.
Obasanjo who commended Udom while inaugurating the 23.4Km dual carriageway Eket-Etinan roads constructed by the Udom’s administration Tuesday said his tenure was a success.
He said to them about Udom’s administration that it has given the State the requisite infrastructural requirements for economic development.
Shortly afterwards, he said “when you have peace, security and stability, you have the basic needs for economic development and progress.
As to the use of the road, the former president said “If you have good roads and it is not used to enhance economic activities, that road is not serving the full purpose it is meant to serve.”
He said Udom, had initiated these projects and you are to take advantage and make good use of them.
On his part, Udom while commenting to the people of Akwa Ibom about his other projects awaiting commissioning, he said they would be completed and Commissioned by his successor.
He said the uncompleted projects include the second runway, MRO and new terminal building at the Victor Attah International Airport, hospitals’ roads, and International Worship Centre among others.
“The 23.4km Etinan-Eket Road which opens the vista of economic activities in the area was a proof of integrity.”Member representing Etinan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Onofiok Luke, said.
Thanking the Governor for a job Weldon, on behalf of women, Sen. Helen Esuene, said Udom has rewritten the history of the state by the construction of Eket-Etinan road.
“By this, you have written your name in gold on the minds of Eket people, the Paramount Ruler of Eket LGA, Edidem E. C. D. Abia, praised the Governor.
Truth Live News gathered that the road with three bridges at Atabong in Eket, Ndiya in Nsit Ubium and in-between Nsit Ibom and Etinan LGAs with an outfall drains totalling 4.11Km is to link the four Local Government Areas of Eket, Nsit Ubium, Nsit Ibom and Etinan in Akwa Ibom State.
