Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State announced the commencement of the Uwelu-Adolor Road construction, a significant project poised to enhance economic activities and spur development across several communities in Egor Local Government Area.
The governor emphasized that the road will serve as a critical bypass, connecting Uwelu to Siluko Road, passing through Uwelu Market and Powerline, and extending to Adolor.
Governor Obaseki reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to opening up more communities for economic growth, assuring that all ongoing road projects in the state will be completed before his term ends in November. He highlighted the strategic importance of the Uwelu-Adolor Road, noting that it forms part of a broader plan to create internal bypasses aimed at alleviating traffic congestion on the Lagos-Benin Expressway.
“This road will act as a mini bypass, facilitating smoother traffic flow around Benin Metropolis,” Obaseki explained. “Our focus is on building internal roads that will ease movement within the city, particularly for traffic coming from the Lagos axis towards Ugbowo and onto Siluko and Ekenwan Roads.”
