In what could be described as a show of shame, Mrs Sabina Chikere, the sister-in-law to the embattled Edo State Deputy, Mr Philip Shaibu, was on Thursday, disgraced and booted out of her office as she tried to cart away items and classified documents.
Truth Live News correspondent was at the Dr Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia stadium in Benin city gathered that Mrs Chikere who has become the first major casulty of the crisis between the state Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki and his over ambitious deputy, was sacked as the Permanet Secretary of the Sports Commission on Wednesday night owing to so many allegations of maladministration and highheadedness levied against the elder sister of the wife of the deputy governor.
Chikere who had fallen out of favour from the vast majority of sports commission staff and stakeholders was said to have arrived the stadium in an attempt to cart away vital documents and some loyal staff of the governor immediately alerted him and the Chief of Staff, Mr Osaigbovo Iyoha who also swiftly deployed personal security aides to stop the woman from looting govt properties.
Truth Live News had reported that Governor Obaseki recently opened a can of worm his deputy, saying he accused him of manipulating the state Youth Council Election in pursuit of his inordinate ambition to become the governor of the state.
Sabina Chikere was said to have been attacked at the stadium by suspected “stadium boys” as she tried to move some items away from the facility.
