Kola Ologbondiyan, former spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, stating that the removal of fuel subsidies and floating of the Naira have severely impacted Nigeria’s economy.

Ologbondiyan argued that a phased removal of petrol subsidies, accompanied by palliatives such as reduced public transportation fares, would have been a more effective approach.

He affirmed that the current policies have led to a significant increase in the price of Premium Motor Spirit, from N189 per liter to over N1000 per liter.

Ologbondiyan, however, urged the government to engage with alternatives and provide better policies for Nigerians.

This development followed the PDP governors’ advice to Tinubu to reform the economy.
