The Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministry (OFM), Pastor Azehme Azena has won the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) gubernatorial primaries election.
Dr. Azena who was formerly a governorship aspirant in Labour Party but later decamped to New Nigeria People’s Party scored 211 Votes to emerge the party’s flag bearer in the forthcoming September 21 governorship election in the state.
Declaring the result, the Chairman, Electoral Committee, Senator Suleiman Abdulraham said out of 351 votes, Azehme polled 211 votes, while Peter Okigwaele scored 100 votes, Rev Sabastine Iyare scored 25 votes, Balogun Alime scored 17 votes with 2 invalid votes and 1 void vote
Abdulraham called on other aspirants to support the winner of the primary to enable NNPP win the September 21st election.
On his part, Pastor Azehme Azena thanked his party for giving him the opportunity to contest and win the primary election in the State.
Azena said there is no victor, no vanquish as he will commence reconciliatory move with other aspirants who contested with him to enable the party work together to produce the next governor of the state, come September 21, 2024.
“I want to unite the aspirants and some members of the party and bring unity back to enable us win the governorship seat.
“I am sure that God will bring down the Goliath with a stone in the upcoming election and the people of Edo State will be better of for it” Azena said.
