The Ondo State House of Assembly has issued a seven-day ultimatum to Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, demanding a response to allegations of corruption leveled against him.
The Assembly had previously initiated impeachment proceedings against Aiyedatiwa.
These allegations stem from alleged serious misconduct during Aiyedatiwa’s time as the acting governor in the absence of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who was on a three-month medical leave abroad.
Oshati Olatunji, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, shared this information during an appearance on Channels Television on Friday.
Olatunji clarified, “There are accusations against the deputy governor relating to financial improprieties. Our duty as legislators is to carry out our responsibilities, and we are not singling out anyone.
“These allegations encompass claims of misappropriating N30 million and violating the constitution. Our request is for him to furnish us with a response to these allegations within seven days.”
