The Ondo States police command has confirmed the killings of two persons and the abduction of five others including a corps member in the state.
The incident was said to have happened along Ifon-Owo express road in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.
It was gathered that the victims were said to be travelers who were driving on the road.
The police image maker, Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the incident, said efforts were already on to rescue the kidnapped victims.
It was gathered that the driver of the attacked commercial vehicle and a female passenger were shot dead at the scene of the incident, while five other passengers including a corps member were whisked away by the suspected kidnappers.
It was said that two of the passengers escaped with varying degrees of injuries in the process.
A source in the community who preferred anonymity said that the vehicle was coming from Anambra State with the passengers heading to Owo and Akure.
However, the Police Public Relations Officer has said the police have already started ransacking the forest in the area with a view to rescuing the kidnapped victims.
Odunlami said efforts were also already in motion to apprehend the Kidnappers.
