Southampton manager Russell Martin is optimistic that Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu will be fit to face Brighton on Friday.
Recall that Onuachu suffered an injury in the Saints’ 3-2 home loss to Liverpool last weekend, sparking concerns about a potential long-term absence.
However, Martin has provided a positive update on Onuachu’s condition.
“Paul’s being assessed, and fingers crossed he’ll come through alright.
“It’s not a bad injury at all, which is really good news for us. It’s just a niggle, so hopefully, we can manage that and he can be involved,” Martin told reporters
Onuachu has made just two league appearances for Southampton this season, with the Liverpool match being his first start of the campaign.
