Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has travelled to the United Kingdom to attend the funeral ceremony of late Queen Elizabeth ll which is scheduled to take place on Monday September 19,2022.
This was disclosed in a statement by his spokesperson, Laolu Akande on Saturday.
According to the statement, “Prof. Osinbajo departs Abuja today and will join members of the Royal Family, world leaders – including members of the Commonwealth, Heads of State, Governors-General, Prime Ministers, and foreign royal families – at the ceremonies, including the funeral service scheduled to hold at Westminster Abbey on Monday.”
The statement added that King Charles lll and Queen Consort Camilla will receive vice president Osibanjo at a reception in Buckingham Palace on Sunday.
The vice president is expected to return back to the country on Monday after holding a bilateral meeting with the UK Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly.
