The governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the Osun gubernatorial election, Yusuf Lasun, has decried the rate of vote buying in the state.
According to him, Nigeria is in trouble if vote buying persists.
There have been widespread of vote buying amongst major political parties in the election.
Speaking with journalists after voting on Saturday, Lasun, a former Deputy speaker of the house of representatives said he fears for the future of the country if vote buying persists.
“We all know that Nigeria is in dire straits if we continue to buy votes,” he said.
“My own generation is exiting politics; I just have fear for the future generation, but let me sound a note of warning, if people actually go out today to buy the vote, Nigeria is in problem.”
