The senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidates Senator Sandy Onor has constructed and donated a Church building to the Catholic Diocese of Ogoja, Saint Daniel’s Quasi Parish Nsofang, Etung LGA of Cross River State, Nigeria.
Truth Live News correspondent who was at the church to cover the ceremony from Calabar confirmed that the lawmaker who is adjudged the most popular candidate gunning for the Cross River State number one job testified that the gesture is in fulfillment of his promise to God, hence, he is using this and others as a form of thanksgiving over the many blessings of God upon his family.
Senator Onor expressed full of confidence that comes 2023 he will be the Governor of Cross River State.
He said: “I have a conviction that in few months’ time I would be the Governor of Cross River State.”
Senator Onor who disclosed this at the dedication of the building by the Bishop of Ogoja Diocese Most Rev. Fr. Dr. Donatus Edet Akpan, Friday recalled that in 2015, he lost the election but because he is infected with a ‘political virus’ he would not want to leave.
The PD Governorship hopeful, on counting his blessings from God testified that the fact that he could sit down in the church with his wife today is a miracle.
In his words, “that I can sit down here in the Church with my wife today is a miracle, this is an opportunity to thank God for the many blessings upon us.”
He continued, “We have been blessed so much that I remember after my emergence as the candidate of the party I told God that immediately after the emergence, I would do adoration before any other thing.”
“After I got knighted, a Rev. father asked me where is the thanksgiving and I said father and he said no no, as many thanksgiving as you do is very important and I said I would finish the Nsofang Church”.

Dedicating the Church edifice while inaugurating the Parish as St. Daniel’s Quasi Parish Nsofang, the Bishop of the Ogoja Diocese, Most Rev. Fr. Dr. Donatus Edet Akpan, in a homily admonished the donor to keep doing good and trust in God to enable him to achieve his ambition.
While expressing gratitude to God for the edifice, the Bishop prayed to God for the sanctification of the altar.
He said, “you’re aspiring to be our leader in Cross River State. Keep doing good. Keep trusting in God you will win. ”
