A former governor of Jigawa State, Northwest Nigeria, Mr. Sule Lamido has described the reconciliation move by the Peoples Democratic Party, and PDP leaders to unite the presidential Candidate of the party, Mr. Atiku Abubakar, and Rivers State Governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike was an exercise embarked on by their well-wishers and not for the PDP.

The chairman of the party`s Board of Trustees, BoT, Mr. Wali Jubril had declared the BoT would take a decision when the reconciliation committee which was set up by the party to reconcile Atiku Abubakar and Nyesom Wike.

But speaking on a live political program on Channels  Tv monitored by Truthlive.net, Mr. Lamido was obviously anti-Wike considering his disdainful utterances against Wike, which was also exposed by his facial expression querying why Wike should be an issue in the PDP.

He said: ‘Why should Wike be an issue? What is the problem with him? He contested an election and was defeated, Atiku is not his problem, the convention is his problem who voted against him”.

“Those embarking on reconciliation are well-wishers of Atiku and Wike, the party did not send them”.

Lamido went further to state that Gov Wike is not the only governor in the party.

He said: “Wike is just an individual whose relevance would expire in about eight months’ time, he is a governor now but once he leaves office in a few months he will become a former governor like me, we were all governors before:.

When reminded of the amounts of votes the PDP could lose in Rivers state during the 2023 elections if the governor does not support Atiku, Sule Lamide said: “Wike is not an issue and the party cannot be grounded because of one man, we have Akwa Ibom and other states, Wike does not control the whole Rivers, he is not an issue, please.

Mr. Sule Lamido was governor of Jigawa State between 2007 and 2915 under the platform of the PDP, but the party lost the state to the ruling All Progressive Congress, in 2015 and the state has been under the control of the APC since then till now, losing all NASS seats.
