The Deputy National Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hajara Wanka on Tuesday tendered her resignation from the party.

Wanka disclosed this in her resignation letter addressed to the acting National Chairman of the party, Umar Damagum.

According to her, the move became necessary following her nomination by the Bauchi state Governor Bala Mohammed for the post of a commissioner.

She appreciated the Damagum-led National Working Committee for the privilege given to her to serve and also expressed appreciation to the governor for finding her worthy to serve in his government.

Similarly, Wanka noted that the experiences garnered over the past few years working for the party, would guide her in her new role in Bauchi State.

PDP spokesman, Debo Ologunagba, had earlier congratulated Wanka for her appointment and wished her well in her new job.

Speaking on behalf of the National Working Committee he said, “Our party is especially delighted by the outstanding achievements of Governor Bala Mohammed as demonstrated in the array of legacy human capital and infrastructural projects with which he has transformed Bauchi State into an oasis of development in line with the manifesto and policy thrust of the PDP.

“The PDP congratulates our Deputy National Woman Leader for being found worthy to serve under an exceptionally brilliant, resourceful, and thorough administrator, Governor Bala Mohammed, and charges her to bring to bear her experience and capacity in this new assignment.”
