A group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Conference of Professionals (CP-PDP), has endorsed Sunday Ude-Okoye as the party’s National Secretary.

This decision was made after reviewing the issues within the party and the recent Supreme Court judgment, which affirmed the supremacy of political parties in managing their internal affairs.

The CP-PDP welcomed the Supreme Court’s judgment, stating it strengthens the nation’s democracy by affirming the powers of political parties to determine their structures and operations.

The group recognized Ude-Okoye as the substantive National Secretary, having emerged through internal democratic processes.

Additionally, the CP-PDP urged the PDP leadership to expel the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from the party.

The group also expressed shock and dismay over the approval of the unconstitutional suspension of a democratically elected governor and legislature by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, calling it a total betrayal of public trust
