In another notable political event in Edo state, Prince Tyson Otaru has successfully attracted additional members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support the governorship candidacy of Dr. Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Okpella, Estako East Local Government Area of Edo State.

This shift in allegiance was highlighted during Otaru’s recent activities, where he emphasized the importance of leadership based on competence rather than party affiliation. Otaru’s influence was evident as many APC members pledged their support for Ighodalo, citing their trust in Otaru’s leadership and belief in Ighodalo’s ability to deliver quality governance.

Mr. Braimoh Omokhogie, a representative of the new PDP supporters, stated, “We are from the APC but have chosen to support Ighodalo’s candidacy because his manifesto aligns with our people’s needs. We trust Prince Tyson, and we will follow him.”

In response, Prince Otaru expressed gratitude and assured the people of continued progress under Ighodalo’s leadership. He praised Ighodalo’s exceptional qualifications and promised that the PDP candidates, including Osarodion Ogie, would enhance the state’s peace and development.

Additionally, Otaru demonstrated his commitment by donating hundreds of campaign materials, including branded wrappers, t-shirts, and caps, to the group.

On September 9, 2024, Otaru and his team paid a solidarity visit to prominent PDP figures Chief Dr. Francis Inegbeneki, the Uzoya of Esanland, and Prince Emmanuel Odigie. During the visit, Otaru lauded Inegbeneki’s leadership and commended the duo for their defection from APC to PDP, calling Inegbeneki a role model.

Chief Inegbeneki, in turn, expressed appreciation for the visit and reassured Otaru’s team of Ighodalo’s impending victory, urging them to remain undeterred by APC’s propaganda
