Filling stations across Nigeria, including those operated by NNPC Limited, have raised petrol prices significantly, with a litre now selling for *N970 to N1,200, according to Legit.ng.
At NNPC-owned outlets in Abuja, prices range from N965 to N990 per litre, reports The Punch
The price hike follows adjustments by the Dangote Refinery, which has partnered with MRS Filling Station, Ardova, and Heyden to supply petrol at N970 per litre nationwide. In a statement, Dangote Refinery attributed the increase to market dynamics under Nigeria’s deregulated petroleum policy, which allows prices to fluctuate based on supply and demand.
This latest adjustment highlights the challenges faced by Nigerians amid the deregulation of the petroleum sector, where pump prices are no longer fixed but subject to market forces.
