The operatives of the Edo State Police command have arrested one Iyayi Omokaro, 34, for hacking his elder brother, Friday Omokaro, 38, to death in a camp in Uzalla Community in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of the state.
The Edo State Police command Public Relations Officer, Moses Joel Yamu revealed this to Journalists in Benin.
He said On 25/03/2025 at about 1530 hours, a report was received from a camp in Uzalla Community about the killing of one Friday Omokaro 38yrs.
Yamu said that the Ahor Police Operatives and vigilante got to the scene and recovered the victim to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The police image maker pointed out that a preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased, Friday Omokaro 38 and his brother Iyayi Omokaro 34, had a misunderstanding which resulted into a fight and that in the process, Iyayi Omokaro used a cutlass to hack his elder brother to death.
He noted that the suspect has been arrested and taken into custody for investigation.
He maintained that the suspect has confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court.
