A 17-year-old girl, Fatima Adamu, from Gamari Village in Niger Republic, has been arrested by the Nigerian Police Force in Borno on suspicion of infanticide following the mysterious death of her newborn son on March 21, 2025.
According to reports, Fatima gave birth to a healthy baby boy at around 8:00 a.m. in Damasak. The infant’s corpse was transported to General Hospital Damasak for a thorough medical evaluation to ascertain the cause of death. A police source confirmed that “the suspect was arrested and is currently undergoing interrogation” as part of the ongoing investigation.
