Popular Human Rights Lawyer, Femi Falana, has on Sunday said that Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, had sought his legal service following the singer’s assault on a police officer on Saturday May 23, 2023.
Recall that Truthlivenews previously reported that Seun, son of late Singer Fela Kuti, was captured on video while he slapped and pushed a police officer on duty at the Third Mainland Bridge area in Lagos.
Reacting to the video, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, gave an order for the immediate arrest of Seun Kuti. Police officers have since gone to the Allen Avenue house of the assaulter but met his absence.
In a new development, Falana stated that he is going to be Kuti’s defense counsel on the case, noting that the singer has enough evidence to defend himself.
He said, “| am his lawyer and he has briefed me. He certainly has evidence. This is not the first time he is dealing with the police.”
Falana further disclosed that the embattled singer would turn himself in on Monday at the police headquarters.
He said, “He is going to report himself to the police tomorrow morning. There is no problem at all.”
