The Rivers State Police Commissioner, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has confirmed the arrest of Prophet Umueke Miracle, leader of Dynamic Flame of Fire and Miracle Ministries for locking up his wife in a room for five days.
The arrest followed a police intervention led by DPO Abacha, who freed Success after receiving reports of her confinement.
Adepoju said that Prophet Miracle was taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further handling by the Deputy Commissioner.
Prophet Miracle was arrested after honouring a police invitation. During a phone call with CP Adepoju, he denied the allegations but refused to let the Commissioner speak directly with his wife, insisting on addressing the matter himself.
Although Miracle claimed he needed to preach on Sunday, the Commissioner allowed him to proceed while ensuring Success was taken to the station to provide a statement.
At the station, Success revealed that her husband had confined her since Tuesday night, confiscated her phones, and restricted her communication with family.
She alleged that Miracle lied to bank staff about depositing N500 million into her account, prompting them to disclose her balance.
Success described her confinement as being held in a rented house.
CP Adepoju dismissed claims that Prophet Miracle had influence over the police, emphasising that no officer would condone such actions.
He criticized exaggerated reports, stating that such allegations often tarnish reputations.
The Commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to justice, denying any prior knowledge of the pastor.
