Police: Ensure Safety Of Members Of Public – CP To Area, Tactical Commanders In Calabar

The Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Sule Balarabe, has directed Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and Divisional police Officers to ensure safety and security of members of the public across the State especially along Ikom/Calabar Highway.

The directive contained in a release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Irene Ugbo and dated December 5, 2022, further directed consistent surveillance patrol and visibility policing to forestall any breach of peace and hitch free yuletide activities.

This according to him, will not only help the police to smoke out all the local criminal elements perpetrating the evil but also will forestall any breached of peace and order in and around the community.

Meanwhile, the CP Balarabe has disclosed that strategic 8 checkpoints are in place to monitor the current situation in Calabar/Ugep Highway hence, a call on residents in Uyanga community to support the police in the provision of genuine and actionable intelligence around the area .

He enjoined citizens residing in the state to go about their lawful duties without fear of molestation of any kind but warned that police would not fold its hands and watch any group of individuals under whatever guise to obstruct or cause the breakdown of law and order in the state.

The release read in part. “Meanwhile, Area commanders, Divisional police Officers and tactical commanders are directed to ensure the safety and security of members of the public across the State, especially Calabar/Ikom Highway.”
