The Gombe State Police Command has successfully arrested two individuals suspected of being part of the Boko Haram group involved in the recent assault on Garkida town in Adamawa State.
The suspects, identified as Abubakar Mohammed, 22, and Abubakar Usman, 20, both from Lawanti area in Akko Local Government Area, were captured on February 14 around 1:00 a.m. at Rocket Hotel, located at New Mile 3 along Yola Road in Gombe.
According to intelligence sources that revealed to Zagazola Makama, a West African Security Watchdog and Analyst, Truth Live News learnt that the arrest was executed by a team from Operation Hattara, following tips from the ADS Hunters Group members, Abubakar S. Gombi and Umar Bukar.
During the search of the suspects, authorities found N63,000 in cash, along with charms and men’s clothing in a small black bag. However, no weapons were discovered at the time of the arrest.
The sources confirmed that the suspects are expected to be transferred to the 301 Artillery Regiment for further interrogation and investigation.
