Men of the anti cultism operation of the police, Kwara state command arrested some suspects believed to be ritualists at a motel in Malete, Moro Local Government area of Kwara State while preparing for an operation.
Ritual practices going by police records often results in killing and human dismemberments.
Malete, a town where Kwara State University, KWASU is located falls within the axis were incidents ritual murders have been recorded.
As learnt, police acting on what its officers call ‘actionable intelligence’ learnt that the suspected ritualists were seen gathered at the isolated hotel Malete.
“The Anti-Cultsm operatives were dispatched to the Area by the Commissioner of Police CP Paul Odama Psc+, where the suspects were rounded up with all the items recovered from them,” explained Ajayi Okasanmi, spokesman of the state police command.
The suspects, according to police are Habeeb Ayomide, Oni Obasanjo, Mohammed Abdulkareem, Ibrahim Apete, Ajao Musa, Ismail Ayomide, Adebayo Abdulateef and Yusuf Najeem.
Found as exhibit according to police are a local pot with concoction, local sponges and other strange habiliments.
“They all confessed to being internet fraudsters but the Command is investigating them for ritual activities.
“They would be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation,” Okasanmi said.
