The Oke-Odo Police Station Command has threatened to deal severely with Keke Napep Tricycle Riders who ply the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, saying it is now an offence to do so.
Speaking on behalf of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Lekan Ogundare, Inspector Ernest Ekeoba, who is a Station Officer, said: “The restriction order was still in force and advised them to stick to the enforcement order as not to expose themselves and other road users to danger.
“It is a big offence for you to be plying restricted roads in Lagos State, particularly the express road.
‘Any defiant tricycle rider caught will be dealt with accordingly”, Ekeoba said.
Ekeoba said further that, anyone who disobeys the order will face a full wrath of the law, while such tricycles will be impounded and a defiant rider will also be charged to court within 24hrs.
The police also reminded the tricycle operators and buses operating along Old Ota Road to continuously adhere to the restriction order, which was enforced in the area a couple of months ago.
