President Macron Urges Humanitarian Pause, Increases France Aid to Palestinians

FRANCE – France President, Emmanuel Macron, announced on Thursday that it country will increase its humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people by an additional €80 million this year, reaching a total of €100 million.

Addressing an international aid conference on Gaza in Paris, Macron urged Israel to protect civilians, emphasizing the importance of conducting anti-terrorism efforts within established rules.

He called for a humanitarian pause in the conflict to facilitate aid delivery to Gaza civilians.

Macron also appealed to other nations to enhance their financial contributions to the Palestinian population through the United Nations, citing the UN’s estimate of a $1.2 billion (€1.12 billion) need for humanitarian aid in Gaza and the West Bank.

The French president further commended various countries for their initiatives in delivering aid to Gaza, expressing hope that the conference would facilitate coordination and effectiveness in these efforts.
