In a significant move, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ms. Rinsola Abiola, the daughter of Late Chief MKO Abiola as his Senior Special Assistant (SSAP) on Citizenship and Leadership. This announcement solidifies her role in the government and underscores her dedication to civic engagement, nation-building, and youth development.

Ms. Abiola, a seasoned public relations professional and a fervent advocate for youth and gender issues, previously coordinated the Progressive Sisters’ Network (PSN), a support group she founded in 2022. Her new role involves working closely with the leadership of the Ministry of Youth, aligning with her longstanding commitment to these critical areas.

Expressing her gratitude, Rinsola Abiola took to her Instagram handle to acknowledged the honor bestowed upon her by President Tinubu. She emphasized the importance of her role in focusing on civics, nation-building, and youth development—themes that have been at the core of her advocacy and political journey since her teenage years.

The appointment reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to youth and gender inclusion, values that Ms. Abiola has championed throughout her adult life.

“I hereby pledge my unalloyed commitment to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to the Renewed Hope agenda, and to delivering on the task which has been assigned to me, so help me God,” stated Ms. Abiola, underlining her dedication to contributing to the nation’s progress.

In a note of gratitude, she extended appreciation to key figures who have played pivotal roles in her political journey. Notable mentions include Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, and Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Honourable Minister for Interior.

She also acknowledged the support of Mr. Seyi Tinubu, a fervent advocate for youth and gender issues, and Ms. Seun Olufemi-White, a committed progressive and advocate for women and youths.

Ms. Abiola thanked her mentors, party stalwarts, and the All Progressives Congress leaders in Ogun State, particularly H.E. Prince Dapo Abiodun. She expressed gratitude to her supporters, including the Progressive Sisters’ Network (PSN) members, Progressive youths, and her mother, whom she lovingly referred to as the spark that brightens up her world.
