Following a tragic explosion at Gaza hospital, protests has erupted across the region, with much of the blame directed at Israel for a strike it attributed to militants from the Islamic Jihad group.

Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group called for a “day of rage” to condemn the incident.

Also, Qatar called it “a brutal massacre” and a “heinous crime against defenceless civilians”, with the African Union, World Health Organization and Arab League among those criticising the strike, AFP report.

In the wake of the blast, which the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza reported as causing the deaths of 500 people, demonstrations occurred at various locations, including the French Embassy in Beirut and the U.S. Embassy outside of the city in Lebanon.

Protests also took place outside Israeli embassies in Turkey and Jordan, as well as at the British and French embassies in Iran’s capital and the French Embassy in Tunisia, Reuters report.

In the West Bank, Palestinian forces used tear gas to disperse protesters expressing their opposition to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
