The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has revealed the true reasons the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2022.
Wike during a meeting with delegates of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo where the socio-cultural group confronted the governor on the allegations of rigging the Rivers State elections against Peter Obi said that all the allegations are false and also revealed why Peter Obi left PDP.
He revealed that Peter Obi while still in the party went to meet Sule Lamido in Jigawa who outrightly told him that “the North will produce the president”.
Wike said that the agenda by the North to return power to the North was the Injustice they stayed back in PDP to fight until Nigeria receives power shift to the South.
He said, “Obi was running with us, i knew when Obi left. He went to see Sule Lamido in Jigawa, not in Dutse, in a village that will take you more than four, five hours from Jigawa capital, Dutse.
“He didn’t tell him that, you came late, I’ve chosen some person, he said no, that it is the North that will produce the president. That was how Obi left, what’s he staying wasting time, he left.”
“That was what i saw at the convention ground and i said, no problem, but, we still maintained that if thr North has taken the presidential candidate, it can’t take the National Chairman again”, he added.
