In a strongly worded press statement sent to Truth Live News dulu signed by the National Leader Comrade Daboikiabo Z. Warmate and National Secretary Alhaji Tasiu M. Muhammad, the Concerned PDP League (CPDPL), an active pressure group in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed their deep appreciation and commendation to the Oyo state governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for providing leadership for the party in the south west and dissociating himself from the comment of the former Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, regarding the 2027 presidency.
The statement also commiserates with Gov. Makinde over the explosion that led to many deaths, injuries and destruction of properties in Ibadan, Lagos PDP chairman over his kidnap incident and the Plateau state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, over the incessant killings in the State.
The statement read in part; “It’s quite heart warming to note the renaissance in the South West PDP with the Ibadan stakeholders meeting.
“We want to commend His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, for breaching the leadership lacuna in the South West PDP because, that was what has been lacking for some years now. Gov. Makinde providing leadership for our great party in the South West is a plausible achievement, which has restored hope and boost the confidence of party faithfuls.
“Seyi Makinde has proven himself to be one of PDP finest governors and leader in the manner with which he galvanized and hosted the south west stakeholders meeting, putting aside his differences with his Osun state counterpart and brother governor, to unite south west PDP is a good omen for the party. He must have made great sacrifices and that is what is expected of a great person who has just earn himself the leader of the south west PDP.
“We in same vain commend him for putting the party’s interest first by dissociating himself from the over zealous comment of the immediate past governor of Benue state His Excellency Samuel Ortom, who said and we quote, “Our leader, Nyesom Wike, has already made a declaration that in 2027, we are supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We have nowhere to go because that is what Nigerians believe. Even the past administration that took Nigeria from top to bottom, we allowed them to work for eight years.
“Therefore we, call on all well meaning south west PDP members and leaders to rally round and lend support to their new leader, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde to enable him unite the party in the South West and give us more states in 2027.”
The group also expressed it’s sympathy to the governor of Oyo state over the explosion in his state and his Plateau state counterpart over the unprovoked destruction of lives and properties in the state by enemies of humanity and peace. And also the kidnapping and eventual release of the Lagos state PDP chairman.
“We commiserate with the good people of Oyo and the governor of Oyo state His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde, over the penultimate tuesday explosion that led to many injured, deaths and destruction of properties at Adeyi in Bodija, Ibadan, the state capital. And also with the good people of plateau state and the governor of plateau state His Excellency Caleb Mutfwang, over the unprovoked incessant killings of harmless plateau state indigenes by enemies of humanity and peace.
“We pray for the repose of those that lost their live and console with their families. We urge the federal government to put an end to the unprovoked killings in plateau state before it gets out of hand and provide support for both the families of those killed and those affect by the deadly explosion.
“And we rejoice with the Lagos state PDP chapter/family and the immediate family of Hon. Philip Olabode Aivoji, the Lagos State PDP Chairman for regaining is free at last after 4days in the kidnappers’ den. Only the almighty God deserves all the appreciation and we give it to Him for saving the life of our Lagos 001.”
“It’s at this point overdue for us to express our deep concern and condemnation over the escalating kidnapping and rising killings and bloodshed in the country, which is an unarguable proof of the failure of the APC led federal government.
“However, in all this, we will not forget to congratulate one of our finest governor His Excellency Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on the victorious confirmation of the mandate freely given to him by the good people of Adamawa state by the supreme court. We also commend the leadership of the party for paying a commiseratory visit to the governors of Oyo and Plateau states.”
