Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford has explained why he dislikes his team’s old opponent Liverpool more than Manchester City.

According to the mirror, Rashford, who has spent his whole career at Old Trafford, has spoken about United’s rivalries with local rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.

Rashford, 24, has stated openly that he dislikes both Liverpool and City, claiming that United’s rivalry with the Reds is more intense due to the two teams’ lengthy history.

Rashford told NBA superstar LeBron James on Uniterrupted that his hatred for Liverpool is more fierce than his hatred for Manchester City.

“Liverpool. I don’t like Liverpool, and City,” said Rashford. “Obviously Liverpool have history so it is a bit more bitter but, with City, it’s like you don’t like them but you don’t really have a massive reason not to like them.

“You just grow up and it’s two Manchester sides, one wears light blue and one wears red. But the rivalry with Liverpool, it feels much more.”
