During the Nigeria-India Presidential Roundtable and Conference in New Delhi on September 6th, 2023, Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holdings Group, delivered a compelling message to Indian investors. He emphasized that this is the opportune moment to explore business prospects in Nigeria.

The conference, a collaborative effort between the High Commission of Nigeria to India, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and the Nigeria-India Business Council (NIBC), marked a significant turning point in economic relations between the two nations.

Indian investors, responding to President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to fostering a favorable environment for foreign investments, pledged nearly $14 billion during the roundtable. Elumelu, known for his contributions to pan-African financial services and involvement in power and natural resources operations across the continent, spoke of the immense opportunities in Nigeria. He invited Indian investors to participate in the nation’s growth story, highlighting the success of companies within his Group’s investment portfolio.

Elumelu, attending the G20 Summit in Delhi as an invitee of President Tinubu and as co-chair of the Business 20 (B20) Action Council, emphasized Nigeria’s appeal. He described it as a vast market with over 200 million people, the largest economy in Africa, and a promising demographic profile characterized by a young and talented workforce, providing investors with the essential human capital to drive their businesses forward.
