Former Captain of the Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles Joseph Yobo has joined the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Vice Chairman (South-South) Chief Dan Osi Orbih in Port Harcourt Rivers state Nigeria to celebrate the victory of Siminaliayi Fubara declared the winner of the gubernatorial election held on Saturday.
The former Everton defender, who’s also the most capped Super eagles player was in River states government house on Monday house where he met with chief Orbih and some other party faithful to congratulate the governor-elect, Fubara, Truth Live News reports.
Sim Fubara scored 302,614 votes to win the Rivers State gubernatorial election, The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC declared Sim Fubara the winner on Monday after collating results from all the LGA in its Port Harcourt headquarters.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Tonye Cole garnered 95,274 votes to come second, while Beatrice Itubo of the Labour Party scored 22,224 votes to come third.
