Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed confidence that he will emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election if he decides to seek a second term.

Fubara made this remark while receiving a delegation of traditional rulers and leaders from the Kalabari Ethnic Nationality in Rivers State.

The delegation endorsed Fubara for re-election, praising his leadership qualities and dedication to infrastructural development, particularly the ₦200 billion Trans-Kalabari Road Project.

In response, Fubara reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering tangible progress for the people of Rivers State, emphasizing that impact and service matter more than the length of time spent in office.

This development comes amidst rising tensions between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who has openly stated that he would not support Fubara’s re-election bid.

However, Opunabo Inkor Tariah, a former media adviser to Wike, has dismissed Wike’s opposition as ineffective, stating that Fubara’s successful “mass-oriented projects” across Rivers State have garnered strong public support.
