Rivers United cut Remo Stars’ lead at the top of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) table to five points following a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Ikorodu City in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

Stephen Manyo scored the winning goal deep into stoppage time.

Abia Warriors moved to third place after securing a 1-0 away win against Heartland at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

Adejoh Ojonugwa netted the winning goal nine minutes from time.

Other results saw Akwa United boost their survival hopes with a 2-0 win over Kwara United, while Katsina United thrashed El-kanemi Warriors 3-0.
