Communities in Ovia South-West LGA of Edo have commended Governor Godwin Obaseki for road construction.

Some of the roads include the Udo–Inikorogha– Ofunama road.

They noted that the roads intervention has made movement in that axis so easy for them.

A statement jointly signed by Mr Friday Benson, Chief Polo Phillip, Mr Duke Ukuesan, Hon Sunday kiriya, Hon Ogidigba Godstime and Hon Henry Okeren, said they are happy that the governor has fixed the roads.

The statement was made available to journalists in Benin City where they said the fixing of the road has elicited excitement among the people.

“Obaseki has fulfilled his pledge by not forgetting the people,” they said.

Also, fixing of the road, they said was a political mileage for the governor.

The statement read thus: “It is a jubilation in these riverine communities of Ovia South West.”

“This single act of the governor has removed the nightmare road users normally experience when passing through the road.”

“Governor Godwin Obaseki has demonstrated that he is a man of his words because he has proved doubting Thomas wrong.”

“This is also a political mileage for the governor because this has opened up our communities.”

“The stress of bringing farm produce to the town and market has been reduced.”

“We will reciprocate this gesture in the September 21, governorship election by voting massively for the governor’s preferred candidate.”
