Barely two days after suspending flights over predictions of a possible terrorists attack in Abuja the federal capital, the British Airways, has resumed its London-Abuja flight BA83.
The airline made the development known in a memo issued to its passengers and partners on Sunday.
Recall that Truthlive.net had reported that the United States and United Kingdom embassies in Nigeria had predicted possible attacks in Abuja, a move that led to several organizations and establishments shutting down services for fear of attack.
The airline cancelled its Friday and Saturday flights made a new schedule which is expected to take effect from Sunday (today).
According to the British airways, the temporary schedule change to/fro Abuja from October 30 to November 7, 2022, was “due to operational constraint.”
It however disclosed that the London-Abuja flight would now be departing by 0810 hours and arrive 1515 hours instead of the previous 22:25 hours and 4:40 hours.
The BA83 flight from London-Heathrow to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja was suddenly diverted to Lagos on Thursday.
Following the development, several passengers who were outraged over the situation claimed that there was no adequate notice by the airline.
It was gathered that although the airline did not provide any reason for the decision, the diversion of the flight might not be unconnected with the terror alert in Abuja with several foreign missions including the US, UK, Australia, Germany, among others, issuing travel warnings to their citizens.
“For cancelled flight BA83/28Oct and BA82/29Oct, please follow the BA standard cancellation guidelines for rebooking of customers,” the airline had instructed passengers.
