The story of Esanland is always connected to the quality of leadership it is able to produce at any given time. And as a matter of historical context, Esan has had a lot of quality leaders right from the times of the Late Chief Anthony Enahoro to the era of Chief Anthony Anenih, and Admr Augustus Aikhomu, both also of blessed memory.
These are leaders that had etched their names in the sands of times in Esanland during good times and as well as challenging times. They were able to position Esanland on the sociopolitical history map of Nigeria.
One thing of note is that these late leaders couldn’t have led so significantly without political powers and authority.
That is why when we are talking about who goes to the Senate for the central district in 2023, we are always talking about the individual who can fit into the big shoes left behind by these prodigious past leaders who we still remember often because of their good deeds.

As the race for Senate hots up, there is collective clamour by all and sundry to vote for Dr. Mike Onolememen for the position of Senate because it is a known fact that he will represent the people of Esan to the satisfaction of all Esan people at home and in the diaspora.
