Senate Confirms 45 Ministerial Nominees, Steps Down El-rufia, Others

The Nigerian Senate on Monday confirm Forty-five ministerial nominees out of 48 nominees forwarded by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while suspending the confirmation of three others.

Those not confirmed are the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, Stella Okotete from Delta State and Senator Abubakar Danlandi from Taraba State.

Speaking after the confirmation of the 45 nominees, Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio, revealed that Nasir El-Rufai and two others have not been cleared by security checks.

Akpabio said: “El-Rufai and two others have not been cleared by security checks.”

Those confirmed includes; Sen. Abubakar S.Kyari (Borno), Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh. (Edo), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. (Rivers State), Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev (Benue), Sen. John Owan Enoh. (Cross River), Hon. (Bar) Bello Muhammad. (Sokoto), Mohammed Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa), Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (Bauchi), Barr. Uju-Ken Ohaneye. (Anambra), Hon. (Dr) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (Ondo), HON (Dr ) NKEIRUKA ONYEJIOCHA (ABIA), Dr. Betta C. Edu (Cross River).

Others are: Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim. (Nasarawa), H.E. David Umahi. (Ebonyi), Mr. Adebayo Olawale Edun (Ogun), Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa (Katsina), Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji. (Enugu), Mr. Dele Alake. (Ekiti), Mr. Adekola Adebayo Adelabu (Oyo), Mr. Muhammad Idris (Niger), Professor Ali Pate (Bauchi), Dr. Doris Anite Uzoka (IMO), Mr Lateef Fagbemi SAN. (Kwara), Hon.
